06 Jun Welcome Summer Bash
We at Occasions Guide LOVE to party, and this time of year calls for an End of School – Welcome Summer Bash!
Here are a few ideas to get the party started:
Water slides and bounce houses are always an popular idea to keep the kids entertained and moving. Craft tables such as sand art, making shell necklaces or painting canvases allow kiddos to create their own masterpieces. And don’t underestimate the fun of pulling out the classics … lead them in games of Simon Says, Freeze Tag and Monkey in the Middle!
Eat and run and have some fun, is the idea, so bite size is always a winner. Mini-burgers, pigs in blanket, french fry grab-and-go cups, chicken sammies, mini BBQ … whatever your menu, remember that mini is king.
Bringing in a little healthy is easy when you “stick” your watermelon … a little fun twist while keeping hands less sticky.
Add to the excitement with a popcorn bar. Place a large bowl of popcorn out (and some cones to scoop it up) and then have sweets to add on top – think M&M’s, gummy bears, Mike-n-Ikes, Rolos, and Reese’s Pieces.
Dessert food trucks bring that element of party-wow. Have an ice cream truck pull up with their siren songs blaring. Want a little more unique? Cupcake trucks are a fun trend that allows kids to decorate their own personalized cupcakes.
Don’t forget the take-homes. We think an ultimate summer take-home-memory includes photos with friends. Photo booths are a hit with the elementary school crowd and provide a fun way to hold memories of school friends. As you bid farewell to your guests, summer themed swag-bags are endless – have some fun with it!
